Royal Avenue, Chelsea, SW3 through the years
The Avenue is a public space, owned by the Royal Hospital Chelsea and leased by RBKC. This makes it unlike any other open space square in London.
Set out as part of the foundation of the Hospital to link to Kensington Palace, money was exhausted by the time it reached what is now Kings Road. The layout however is continued by Sloane Avenue.
